Intune for Education was a announced back in January 2017 – and now it is finally here.
It is “just” a webportal to the “real” Intune in Azure. It is a easy way for a school teacher or a admin to do simpel task on many devices. This blogpost is not about the functionality for Intune for Education, but how to do a simpel task – like deploy Office 365 click-to-run Proplus to devices – without building the application.
In this blogpost I will shot how to deploy Office 365 Proplus with Intune for Education.
Start the Intune for Education portal https://intuneeducation.portal.azure.com
Go to Apps
Scroll down to the Office 365
Click on Office 365
Select Groups
Click Change group assignments
Find the group of devices where you what to deploy Office 365 Proplus
Click save
Then you can also see the Office 365 Proplus application directly in the group under apps
When the devices in the group has done a sync to Intune, Office 365 Proplus is getting installed.
Try it out – it also works in non Educational tenants the places I have testet it, but the documentation is saying Education only.
It is only working with Windows 10 1703 since is it the only Windows version that support Office CSP.
This is great! However, it does not seem to be available to non-education tenants as I get a message about missing licensing. This would be so much easier to deploy ProPlus in the enterprise as well
Are your Intune tenant migrated to the Azure Portal??
Generally yes. I can manage most of Intune from within Azure portal already.
